I love to teach and to help the community in any way possible. I love the teaching environment that embraces the students' learning as well as empowers their growth academically, socially, and emotionally through music arts education. My philosophy of teaching is trying to create respect and desire for musical experiences, teaching students to react positively, listen responsively, and participate in a sensitive musical manner by providing a variety of musical experiences for those students who will be mostly consumers of music, as well as for those that will be music professionals. My goal as an educator is to provide students with the resources and tools to take ownership over their own musical development, during their learning process, college time as well as all the way up through their professional careers. That way they can develop their own musical critical thinking skills, ultimately becoming the musicians they would love to be. I truly believe in teaching the fundamental principles of technique that can be applied universally. Positive reinforcement is primarily important, in order for students to have confidence to trust and believe in their own personal ability to grow. A crucial process to teach is to learn how to bridge the gap between technique and musicality. The technical proficiency idea is to enable students to express music with their full potential. Each student is allowed to showcase their own unique voice and points of view, and my purpose is to assist them with what they need and help them to accomplish their musical visions.
