About Me

Hi, my name is Millicent. I am a singer from South Carolina. My humble beginnings reach back to 5 years of age when I first began singing. Since then, singing has been embedded in the tapestry of my life. I grew up with parents who were singers in a home full of music. I was a teen before I realized I had a gift. Professionally I have made my living as a vocal entertainer for the past 16 years. I have traveled many places and even opened for a celebrity here and there. In 2016 I joined a 12 piece corporate band and today — a full decade later— I still manage, choreograph, and sing lead with what’s become my second family. What I love most about teaching music is the connection. Teaching students that it takes more than just great “chops” to sing pushes them into a stratosphere they didn’t know existed. You cannot connect with your audience until you connect with yourself. Facing that mirror can be challenging but the reward is priceless! I’m looking forward to connecting with you!

What to expect in my Vocal Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced

For any experience level, lesson one is all about scales. We will learn/review major, minor, and chromatic scales. I will be looking for pitch and vocal agility. We will also get to have fun with some breathing exercises.
