About Me

Hi, my name is Jarvis and I am a drummer from Dallas. I have been a student of music for 15 years. My musical influences include a mix of RnB and Hip-Hop I also enjoy some jazz. My teaching style can best be described as laid back comfortable space. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I don’t care about mistakes as long as you can grow to find the errors and correct them on your own. In my lessons, you can expect to learn new ways of trusting yourself to let go and become the rhythm and heart of the songs you will play. I like to tell my students to keep playing. My favorite thing about teaching is helping people find the joy in music. My favorite performance was this musical i was apart of and i expanded outside of the box and felt the music resonate. My students love that I can support them and their different ways of playing. I primarily teach staying in the box until you have a standard grasp on the flow of the music, but I can also teach.
