About Me

Hello. My name is Christopher and I from Bettendorf. I have been a student of music for 40 years. I study, play, and teach many styles of music, including rock, blues, pop, jazz, fusion, country, funk, and soul / rhythm and blues. Yes, I said that I study music too--even after 40 years; that's because you never stop learning! My teaching style can best be described as thorough but fun. My teaching philosophy is that learning should be fun but that fundamentals, theory, and discipline make learning easier. In my lessons, you can expect to learn to play songs and why those songs are written the way they are and to become as great a technician as you set out to be. I like to tell my students that you get out of life what you put into it, which definitely applies to learning music as well. My favorite thing about teaching is watching students get better and gain confidence. My favorite performance was at the Redstone Room in Davenport. My students love that I have a great sense of humor but know my stuff. I primarily teach rock, blues, and pop, but I also teach jazz, country, funk, and soul. Thanks for your interest.
