About Me

Hi, my name is John and I am a multi-intsrumentalist from Oxford, Ohio. I have been a student of music for 27 years. My musical influences include Jazz, Rock and I also enjoy Fusion. My teaching style can best be described as hands-on. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I teach the value of practice! In my lessons, you can expect to learn guitar, bass, drumset, or a myriad of others. I like to tell my students that it takes just a little bit of time a day. My favorite thing about teaching is observing the progression. My favorite performance was when I finally overcame stage fright back in middle school when my vice principal, who played bass and guitar gave me some wisdom. My students love that I can bring knowledge from other instruments outside of the instrument they're learning to better understand musical instruments and how they interact.
