About Me

Hi, my name is Nicholas and I am a percussionist from Olathe. I have been a student of music for 25 years. My musical influences include Outkast, Gorillas, and The Beatles. and I also enjoy video game soundtracks. My teaching style can best be described as experience based, keeping the enjoyment of music a top priority. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that if you can say it, you can sing it, if you can sing it, you can play it. In my lessons, you can expect to learn movement along with your isntrument. I like to tell my students to feel it before you play it. My favorite thing about teaching is seeing a student's face when they accomplish their goals. My favorite performance was performing in the Pittsburg University Choir in Wales. My students love that I am playful. I primarily teach kindergarten-5th grade but I am also certified to teach until 12th grade+. My approach as a teacher is to prioritize practicality; let students lead the direction of learning by using real life examples they can apply to everyday situations.
