Hi, my name is Jason and I am a guitarist from Michigan. I have been a student of music for 15 years. My musical influences include classic rock, reggae, hip hop, country, fingerstyle, modern rock and I also enjoy many other genres and types of music. My teaching style can best be described as practical playing, muscle memory and feel, efficient practice routines, and real songs, riffs, and techniques that can actually be implemented. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I believe real growth comes from a balance of discipline, discomfort, and most of all enjoyment and having fun. In my lessons, you can expect to learn useful techniques and timing, sounding more musical not so robotic, learning useful licks and phrasing, and build overall fretboard confidence. I like to tell my students that its okay to go out of your comfort zone, that is where the real growth happens. Most importantly, playing the guitar is about having fun. My favorite thing about teaching is seeing my students eyes light up when they finally achieve a goal they have been working towards. My students love that I am patient and willing to help whenever they need it.
