About Me

Hi, my name is Marcus and I am a music student from Lansing, Michigan. I have been studying music for several years through performance in ensembles, live settings, and ongoing training. My musical influences include a range of pop and contemporary artists such as any Motown artists, and I also enjoy performing and exploring different styles of modern music. My teaching style is supportive, patient, and focused on building strong fundamentals while keeping lessons engaging. My teaching philosophy is centered around meeting students where they are and helping them grow at a comfortable, consistent pace while building confidence along the way. In my lessons, you can expect to learn vocal technique, breath control, pitch accuracy, and how to apply your voice to songs in a practical way. I encourage students to understand that progress comes from consistency and confidence. My favorite thing about music is the ability to connect with others through performance. My experience performing in ensembles and live showcases has helped shape how I approach both music and teaching. I focus on clear guidance and creating a relaxed learning environment. I primarily teach voice, but I can also help with general musicianship and performance skills.
