About Me

Hi, my name is Tanner and I am a guitar player and guitar teacher.. I have been a rocker for nine years and trained heavily under my mentor until he told me I was great. My musical influences include a big collection of 1960s and 1970s music but I play my own style which is similar to Frank Zappa in terms of I do my own thing my way. My teaching style can best be described as simple and creative. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that my focus is to simplify everything as close to zero as I possibly can and get you playing songs fast., You can expect to learn songs and accomplish a lot on guitar fast with just a little practice and a little patience. I like to tell my students “When you are frustrated, that means you are learning. When it isn’t frustrating, you aren’t learning.” So it is good to be frustrated. My favorite thing about teaching is seeing my student come back and I can see that they have practiced. My students love that I break things down so simply and I stay focused AND that I always have a plan beforehand of our upcoming lesson. I primarily teach rock, but I can also teach anything.
