About Me

Hi, my name is Sekyia and I am a singer from New York by way of California. I have been a student of music for over 20 years. My musical influences include my mother who taught me how to sing, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, and Celine Dion. and I also enjoy dancing. My teaching style can best be described as fun and exciting first, personalized based on the students needs. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that you have to make your voice dance so they can see what you’re saying. In my lessons, you can expect to learn if my methods are beneficial. I like to tell my students do your best and don’t quit. My favorite thing about teaching is seeing how much more confident they become. My favorite performance my High School talent show because I made the audience take out their lighters. My students love that I believe in their ability to learn.
