About Me

Lydia, origiy from Perrysville, Ohio, is a vocal performance master’s student and graduate assistant at the University of Akron. At the university she is involved with the opera program, where she has played roles such as Adina in L’Elisir d’amore, Despina and Dorabella in Cosi fan tutte, and Musetta in scenes from La Boheme. This past summer, she made her European debut in the role of Terra in Pluto at the Vienna Summer Music Festival. In 2024 she placed first in the Hall Johnson Spiritual category at Great Lakes Regional NATS. During her undergraduate degree she was involved in the choirs at the university and served as president of the student chapter of the American Choral Directors Association, vice president for the Student National Association of Teachers of Singing, and musical director of Kanga Blue A Cappella. This summer she will be presenting a poster at the NATS National Conference in San Antonio, Texas on Eastern European art song. She will also be returning to Europe to perform in Suor Angelica at the Berlin Opera Academy.
