About Me

Drawn to the beat for as long as I can remember, started lessons at age 11, violin in elementary school before giving it up for a 6 string electric guitar. I have been drawn to music my whole life. I have found inspiration in blues, rock, punk, folk, bluegrass, and jazz in my personal music journey. After moving to Washington in 1996, my friends and I played in garage bands and jammed a few times with our friend Brandi Carlile when we were all teenagers, just starting out. I played in churches, youth groups, local bands and taught lessons in Maple Valley until moving to another city and my work schedule changes took me away from music and teaching. I have been working as a generator technician for the past 2 decades, now I need to be more kind to my body and thankfully I have the chance to play, share and teach the joys of music once again.

What to expect in my Guitar Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate

To be the best teacher, I encourage students to share their goals and aspirations with their instruments. We will work together as you learn, to achieve your goals with basic music theory and getting to know your instrument. Formal Education:

Elementary, middle and high school bands, jazz band

Private Education:

1 year of acoustic guitar beginner lessons,-Irvine, CA 2 years of electric guitar lessons-Kent, WA Individual classes, multiple guitar and performance workshops, including one taught by Dweezil Zappa

Performing Experience:

Elementary, middle and high school orchestra, Jazz band, garage bands, youth groups, camps, church services, parties, backing band for classmates auditions, gigging parties and other events with small rock band

Experience Teaching:

ages 12+ 6 string standard acoustic and electric guitar 4 & 5 string electric bass guitar Currently also able to offer 6 string baritone electric and acoustic guitar, and 7 string electric guitar
