VINÍCIUS Press Kit BIOGRAPHY Vinícius de Freitas is a Brazilian jazz guitarist based in New York whose work is deeply rooted in the bebop tradition. With formal training in classical guitar and historically informed performance, his artistic identity bridges contrapuntal thinking and harmonic rigor with improvisational fluency. His solo guitar interpretations integrate Barry Harris’ harmonic concepts, independent bass motion, inner voice orchestration, and hybrid picking technique. His work documents an ongoing research into how bebop language can be fully realized in solo format without sacrificing rhythmic propulsion or melodic clarity.
