About Me

Hi, my name is Nidal and I’m a music teacher based in Lakeland and Davenport. I’ve been a musician for 14 years and have been teaching for the past 6. I enjoy a wide variety of music, with a particular strength in classical and jazz techniques. My teaching style is best described as “productive fun.” I believe students learn best when they’re engaged, challenged, and enjoying the process. My philosophy is simple: I practice what I preach. I don’t just teach instruments—I actively play them as well. In every lesson, I model strong technique and musicianship so students can see and hear what success looks like. In my lessons, students can expect to develop skills in reading music, instrument technique, effective practice habits, and overall musicianship. I also encourage students to embrace challenges and build confidence by learning how to do hard things. I often tell my students that music teaches you about life. One of my favorite parts of teaching is the opportunity to connect with people from all different backgrounds—people I might never have met otherwise. I primarily teach brass, woodwinds, and percussion, and I also offer beginner instruction in guitar and piano. My approach is always to meet students where they are and help them grow from there. Outside of academic settings, I have performed in many groups such as the Lakeland Symphony Orchestra, Space Coast Symphony Orchestra, South Shore Symphony Orchestra, and various churches.

During my college years, I volunteered in the music and band classrooms at Rochelle School of the Arts, Southwest Elementary, and Lakeland Senior High. For the past 2 years, I have been a middle school band teacher in Davenport.
