Hi, my name's Matt and I'm a passionate guitarist with over 10 years of experience studying classical guitar. These days I focus on acoustic fingerstyle guitar, blending technique with creativity to bring music to life. Whether you're just starting out or looking to improve, I can help you build a strong foundation, learn new techniques, and even guide you in choosing the right instrument. I studied classical guitar under Norman Ruiz for over 10 years, who himself is a very accomplished guitarist in the Chicagoland area. After graduating high school, I received a full scholarship to study guitar performance at Trinity International College but life took an interesting turn and I ended up going to the University of Illinois instead. I now work in biotech but music is still a very important part of my life and I'd love to share it with you.
Performing Experience:
Over the years I've performed in competitions, played shows, and even backed a singer during their final audition for The Voice. These days I mainly play for my own enjoyment but you might occasionally find me at open mics at the local coffee shop.
