Mackenzie has always loved music. She began playing violin at the age of 8 and continued her education at Mercyhurst University. Throughout high school, she expanded her instrument repertoire and continued developing her skills in college, where she performed in both the marching band and orchestra. Her musical influences include a blend of classical composers and modern artists who emphasize emotion, storytelling, and strong musicality. Mackenzie’s favorite thing about music is its ability to connect people and express emotion in a way nothing else can, and her favorite thing about teaching music is helping students build confidence while discovering their own unique sound. One of her favorite teaching experiences was watching a student go from feeling unsure of themselves to confidently performing a piece they once thought was out of reach.
