About Me

Matthew is the best choice for percussion instruction! He grew up playing drum-set for the local church, took private lessons as a child and adolescent and even was admitted to a renowned performing arts school in New York City, where he was first chair in his school’s competitive seated symphonic band. He is disciplined, structured, methodical and has a wide range of experience spanning from marching band style drums, to auxiliary percussion, to mpc use in electronic finger drumming along with Latin cultural drums (hand drums). He began instructing others in high school while teaching his peers how to fill their spots properly, and even used his teaching experience to later assist in teaching small children with special needs how to use music as a form of therapy. Matthew has assisted in church venues to teach the local talent how to implement different sounds and systems from modern to classical sounds. Matthew is as familiar with music and performance, as he is with people in general and has a true knack for explaining key components of music as well as life lessons to his students.
