Formal Education:

Formal training in music performance, vocal technique, and music theory, with a strong emphasis on ear training, sight-reading, and ensemble work. Selected for the Pennsylvania Governor’s School for the Arts, an elite program for top student musicians, and attended the Lutheran Summer Music Program, focusing on advanced choral and vocal performance. Recognized early for vocal excellence, ranking #1 in district, region, and state chorus, and #2 in All-East among top singers from the original colonies. Performed as a boy soprano representing the Singing Boys of Pennsylvania, including appearances with major ensembles such as the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra (Mozart’s Exsultate, Jubilate) and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra (The Snowman).

Private Education:

Additional studies include coursework and training through Berklee College of Music, along with extensive private study with high-level professional musicians, coaches, and industry mentors. Training focused on vocal performance, pedagogy, and multi-instrument proficiency, supported by real-world experience across New York City, Nashville, and Los Angeles. Also studied bass with John Patitucci at the Bass Collective (1997–1999). This combination of formal and private training informs a highly practical, results-driven teaching approach centered on fast diagnosis and immediate correction.

Performing Experience:

Extensive professional performing experience as a vocalist, pianist, and music director across a wide range of settings, including national tours, cruise ship productions, and live performances in major music markets such as New York City, Nashville, and Los Angeles. Worked as a pianist and vocal coach for cruise ship production casts with Carnival Corporation, supporting singers in high-level, fast-paced performance environments. Toured nationally with Matt Davenport Productions in shows such as On Broadway and American Jukebox as a music director, singer, and pianist. Additional performance and creative credits include orchestration work for original musical theater productions, including Count to Ten (New York Musical Festival, 2009), as well as collaborations with professional performers and ensembles throughout a 40+ year career in music.

Experience Teaching:

Over 30 years of experience teaching voice, piano, and multiple instruments to students of all ages and levels, from beginners to advanced performers. Coaching experience includes work with professional singers, cruise ship performers, and aspiring artists in major music markets such as New York City, Nashville, and Los Angeles. Served as a music director and educator in both private and academic settings, including work at Centenary University. Teaching focuses on a results-driven approach: quickly identifying the root cause of vocal or technical issues and correcting them in a way students can feel immediately.
