About Me

I began playing the piano when I was six years old, and I continued until I moved away to attend Ithaca College, where I study film and screenwriting. I have continued to keep up my playing as the music school at Ithaca allows anyone to use the practice rooms equipped with pianos. I took lessons from Joe Benedict, who taught me not only to play many types of piano music, including my favorites, classical and jazz, but how to understand the music on a deeper level. I am a natural leader and teacher, and even though I have no formal piano teaching experience, I have teaching and leading experience in other areas. I was a summer camp counselor for three years at Camp Saginaw, where I was responsible for about twenty boys ages 7-14. I also have teaching experience at school where I work in the camera equipment center where I regularly lead workshops, as well as being a TA for the freshman class students. I think I would be a wonderful piano teacher for children and teenagers, because I am eager to give back to the musical community. As a kid, I always looked up to Mr. Benedict's piano expertise, and I would be honored to be able to pass on our collective musical knowledge to the next generation of musicians.
