About Me

Hi, my name is Mason and I am a musician and audio engineer from California, new to the Portland area! I have been a student of music for over 10 years. My musical influences include indie-folk and singer-songwriter genres, but I appreciate all music and I also enjoy other forms of art and creative media, such as photography! My teaching style can best be described as encouraging and student-focused. In my lessons, you can expect to form strong foundations with the basics, applying those foundations to your personal goals, and lessons tailored to your skill, learning style, and music taste. I like to remind my students to focus on the joy of music, to try new things, and have fun! My favorite thing about teaching is learning from my own students, you’d be surprised how many new artists I’ve picked up from your influence! My favorite performance was the last show I played in my hometown, right in the historic district down my street. My students love that I can move at their pace, all practicing is learning.
