About Me

My portfolio/credentials, as well as resume and cover letter, describe my in depth musical talent and teaching ability. My musical experience has led me to collaborate with The Roots, T.V. On The Radio, Church leader Hezekiah Walker, Hillsong Churches, Melvin Van Peebles, The Black Rock Coalition, and Vernon Reid of Living Colour. Not only have I collaborated with high caliber musicians, I have also performed at Lincoln Center and The Apollo Theater. I have 20 years of experience in playing and teaching guitar and piano, largely Classical as well as Jazz in the U.S. and Europe as well. My private instruction has let me to bestow my gift and connect with many different people from many backgrounds, different ages, and social conditions. My music mentoring includes Harrison School of Music, Mount Vernon School of Music, and Mount Vernon high school and I was trained in Classical and jazz guitar and piano, as well as rock and roll, folk, Latin, reggae, and gospel. In September and October of 2021 through 2022, I was working as a substitute Music and English teacher in the Bronx, NY but took a break to continue my Masters Degree in Music Education at Lehman College. Since then, until now, I am working as a special education teachers aide and part time music instructor. I believe I would be a great asset to your program, as I would improve the students knowledge in music. I believe in uplifting my students, to help them reach their maximum potential through sharing the gift and joy of music, mentoring, and of course one of my ultimate skills/passions-performance. My Ultimate goal is to Make an Impact!! Many people can teach common technique and theory/basic curriculum, however, my goal is to connect with my students.
