While my years in the classroom are minimal, I have spent the last 12 years working with different marching bands in both Pennsylvania and here in Colorado. I was a percussion tech, percussion director for both indoor and outdoor, and assistant band director. There were a few times that I was the only percussion instructor all season and had to bounce back and forth between the drum line and the front ensemble. I will admit that drum set is not my strongest area, orchestral percussion is much stronger for me. I have a strong passion for percussion education, as many band teachers are not fully equipped to properly teach percussion. I earned my degree in music education with a percussion concentrate in 2022 from West Chester University of Pennsylvania.
