About Me

Hello, I'm Spencer, I've been playing guitar as my primary instrument for the last 3.5 years. I play classical guitar music for my primary lessons but I've learned Jazz, Folk, Rock, Christian, Motown, and Country for my music therapy curriculum too! I have performance experience with electric guitar solos and singing while playing so if you're into the idea of band performing we can work on that too! I am hoping to be a tool to help you foster your love for music and want to help build up your creativity and curiosity. My philosophy is to meet my student where they are and proceed from there to set achievable goals and help them see their potential to play how they wish to play.

What to expect in my Guitar Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate

Initial lesson to determine a students baseline of proficiency as well as a measure on goals the student wants to achieve. Lessons will be structured around taking digestible steps while discussing theory to help with at home practicing.

Formal Education:

Bachelors of Music in Music Therapy at Queens University of Charlotte.

Private Education:

Guitar instruction for 3+ years. Piano lessons for 3 years, Vocal lessons for 1 year, percussive lesson for half a year but I did play drums on rock band quite a bit.

Performing Experience:

Performing for University events (Admitted Students Day, Department Awards, Coffee House Open Mic), performances in Guitar Ensembles at Queens for 3 years, plenty of music therapy clinical sessions.
