Hi everyone—my name is Ja’wan, and I’m excited to work with you! I’m a classically trained vocalist with a Master of Music from the University of Missouri, with performance experience in opera and choral settings. Highlights include Ariodante, the world premiere of My Name Is Florence, and my debut with the Minnesota Opera. I’ve performed works by composers like Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Vincenzo Bellini, and Antonín DvoÅ™ák. In addition to classical training, I also have a strong background in country, pop, jazz, and contemporary music, which allows me to bring versatility and a well-rounded approach to my teaching. As an instructor, I focus on vocal fundamentals, confidence, and helping you develop your own unique sound. I bring real-world performance experience into every lesson so you’re not just learning music—you’re learning how to own it. Looking forward to working with you all!
