About Me

Katie has always loved music from an early age. She began playing piano at the age of 6 and singing at the age of 8. She continued her education at the University of Michigan, where she earned her degree from the School of Music, Theater, and Dance in Voice Performance. Her musical influences include classical music, opera, musical theater, pop music, jazz muic, and more. Katie's favorite thing about music is the way it allows you to express yourself and her favorite thing about teaching music is helping students grow into the best versions of their musical selves. One of her favorite teaching experiences was this past January, when her student went from being extremely shy to getting the lead role in the school play.
