About Me

Hi, my name is Andrew and I am a Trombonist from San Antonio. I have been a student of music for 13 years. My musical influences include Jeremy Wilson and I also enjoy Andy Hunter. My teaching style can best be described as detailed, patient, and engaging. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I facilitate students finding their answer to their problems, while providing practice schemes to further develop skills. In my lessons, you can expect to learn Trombone fundamentals along with deep understanding of organized practices. I like to tell my students to practice by erosion, solve problems little by little. My favorite thing about teaching is seeing a student have a "lightbulb moment". My favorite performance was the North American Brass Band Association Championships with the San Antonio Brass Band. My students love that I give drills that will show progress throughout the week. I primarily teach Tenor Trombone, but I can also teach Bass Trombone. My approach as a teacher is to build a practice scheme that develops skills, or experiment with techniques to further express musicality. Thanks for taking a look at my profile.
