About Me

I'm a self-taught guitarist with 12+ years of experience writing original compositions and performing in various bands. Though I specialize in guitar, I have some experience playing drums, bass guitar, and vocals in various groups as well. My main style of composition is alternative rock, but I also like to play and sing contemporary country/folk on acoustic as well. My teaching style can be best described as holistic, as my experience as a summer camp counselor has helped me develop strong mentorship skills for young musicians to grow not only as artists, but as young adults. Being self-taught, I have utilized a wide variety of internet resources and become familiar with a diverse arsenal of drills and exercises to help students improve both technical fretboard/picking ability as well as creative songwriting and artistic expression. My goal is to design a personalized lesson plan based on each student's strengths and weaknesses to facilitate their technical and artistic development through both structured exercises as well as more flexible creative writing blocks. In addition to my guitar teaching ability, I have developed a proficiency in and familiarity with audio recording and production in the Logic Pro X digital audio workstation. Students who are interested in recording and producing their music are encouraged to utilize this aspect of my experience to become a more well-rounded musician beyond performance and composition. I welcome the opportunity to work with any student who wants to improve their technical ability, creative composition skills, or digital audio production proficiency and look forward to guiding their development along their musical journey!
