Born at an early age, James kept his eyes and ears to the stars listening to greats like Bob Marley, BB King, Eric Clapton, and many more. His feel, and pure listening abilities helped distinguish his playing style to being custom for every performance. Learning to read and play wasnt his strong suit, but rather being able to listen to 2 seconds of any song, and jump right in to a groove that fits the music well. Staying pocket, and consistent with tastey fills and listening proactively to catch certain pauses, or changes in the rhythm/melody of the song is what he teaches. This approach is a fast track to being able to improvise live, and with confidence under pressure.
