About Me

I have been playing piano since I was 6 years old. I took piano lessons growing up, and I learned to play both classical and popular music. I have been playing guitar since 11. I took guitar after school in middle school. I also play trumpet, which I learned to play going into high school. I played trumpet in my high school bands. I continued to pursue my trumpet playing in my undergrad. I also developed a knack for composing music. During my undergrad, one of the university chamber ensembles performed an original piece I composed. I have continued to write music since then. I also have perfect pitch, which may come in handy for any music lessons I provide.

Formal Education:

I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Music at Florida Gulf Coast University in May 2020. I completed my Masters in Music Theory at University of North Texas in May 2024. I also completed my Masters in Music Education at Florida International University in April 2026.

Private Education:

As mentioned in my bio, I took individual piano lessons growing up. I learned the basic theory elements in addition to popular and classical tunes. I took private trumpet lessons while attending band camp in high school. I learned basic fundamentals of trumpet playing and how to improve on my repertoire.

Performing Experience:

In high school, I performed in the marching band, jazz band, and concert/symphonic band. We would perform at football games, in concerts, or other special school-sponsored events. During my undergrad, I performed in the university's symphonic band, wind orchestra, jazz ensemble, and basketball band. We would perform in concerts, basketball games, and other special events. I also completed my junior trumpet recital during my undergrad. Once a month in the past 1-2 years, I have played during Shabbat services at my synagogue with other musicians. I have played guitar, trumpet, and melodica during services.

Experience Teaching:

I was a music instructor at Appel Farm Music & Arts Camp in Elmer, NJ in 2019. I was a teaching assistant in music theory and a teaching fellow for aural skills when completing my Masters at UNT. I have also given private music/piano lessons. When completing my Masters in Music Ed, I taught in the field. I did my student teaching at Amelia Earhart Elementary in which I taught the students about different instrument families and how to play the xylophone. I also completed my student teaching at Miami Arts Studio where I helped direct the school bands. I have also been the music teacher at a Jewish Sunday school in Sunrise, FL called LEV. Once a week, I teach the kids there songs relevant to their Jewish faith and practices.
