About Me

Hey! I’m Rhett, I’m a Jazz Studies major at the University of Texas at Arlington, and I’m looking for full-time work as a music lessons instructor to help pay for music school while continuing to grow on my various instruments! I’m very well versed in alto sax, tenor sax, guitar, and bass guitar; and I’m currently learning drums, piano, clarinet, and flute. I have toured around Texas with several bands on lead guitar/vocals over the last 4 years and thus have real world music experience and connections! I’ve taught saxophone and guitar independently on and off for over 3 years, and my students know me to be very helpful, passionate, and encouraging. I have received several Outstanding Soloist awards, the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award, and ranked the 7th best 5A tenor saxophonist in the state of Texas by TMEA in 2025. I’m very flexible with playing different styles, such as jazz, classical, rock, metal, progressive rock, and anything else in between. I’d be incredibly grateful for any opportunity to spread my love and enthusiasm for music, and I’ll do my absolute best to prove myself a meaningful addition to any teaching team!
