About Me

Hello! My name is Mckenna. I am a 21 year old soprano music major at Eastern University with a double major in Psychology. My goal is to be a music therapist working mainly with children. Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Starting with lullabies and nursery rhymes, then learning simple piano and recorder tunes and singing along with The Sound of Music. I started violin lessons at age 8, and continued to sing as I grew more confidant with my voice and harmonizing. I was in choir and orchestra both in middle and highschool and performed in 3 musicals that the school put on. My favorite was The magic Flute, where I was cast as Papagaena but also sang Pamina's part behind the curtain for extra support I started taking lyre lessons right before I graduated highschooland still play for my church. As a music major I have become proficient in music theory as well as voice. I've sung in Italian and German as well as English. I am a peer tutor in university and have tutored both Music and Psychology. My mother is a Spanish teacher and my Godmother is a music teacher so I have picked up some tools that I use to help my own students. I've worked at a music summer camp and have helped children with piano, recorder, and singing.
