About Me

Eric J. Chen is a graduate of Berklee College of Music with a major in Professional Music and concentrations in Songwriting and Music Production & Engineering. A well-rounded musician, Eric began classical piano training at the age of six and later expanded into pop, K-pop, rock, hip-hop, and musical theater, developing a versatile skill set that blends strong technical foundations with contemporary musicianship. Eric’s training emphasizes not just performance, but a deep understanding of harmony, ear-training, improvisation, and composition. He has extensive experience in songwriting and production, working in Logic Pro X and Pro Tools to record, produce, mix, and master both original music and covers. A warm-hearted and detail-oriented teacher, Eric helps students understand why music works and how to apply this knowledge creatively. Eric pursued Voice and Piano as his primary instruments at Berklee. Beyond teaching, he has served as former Music Director and current arranger for the award-winning Northeastern Unisons a cappella group, has produced and engineered for a wide range of artists and projects, and performs regularly at weekly gigs.
