Jay began singing at the age of three. Over the years, he developed his skills further by taking private lessons. He gained performance experience in the Kansas City area by playing at such venues as the Kauffman Center, which lead him to perform at the Carnegie Hall stage, located in New York. Though Jay can teach many different genres of music, his musical personal favorites are the voice, which had great influence on his style. Jay loves music because it is a way to express yourself beyond what only words can carry, and loves teaching music because it allows others to see how impactful their sound is.
