About Me
Hi! I'm a music educator who recently moved from Shelley, Idaho to the Greensburg, Pennsylvania area this summer! I've taught elementary music at Hazel Stuart Elementary 5th Grade Music and 6th Grade Media Literacy full-time. I enjoy collaborating with my students in all creative projects, from designing our school yearbook to composing original holiday music medleys/arrangements. I've also offered individualized instructional support and classroom management assistance at Hobbs Middle School choir, band, and orchestra program helping students strengthen their confidence, musicianship, and teamwork through the arts. I am incredibly passionate about the arts and dedicated to cultivating a love of music within students instilling transformative learning experiences. My philosophy centers on inclusivity, excellence, and respect, believing that music education is not only about teaching musical skills but fostering cognitive, emotional, and social growth. I love preforming and have had the privilege to sing in several collegiate-level ensembles, area voice recitals, honor choirs, local opera/theater productions, and church choirs. For example, I'm apart of Anam Cara, a select chamber choral ensemble of 40 professional musicians/educators, celebrating 25 years of an interfaith choir community providing audiences with musical experiences of exceptional quality. I’m honored to represent the youngest voice among several of my former BYU–Idaho professors. Additionally, I love developing my proficiency practicing multiple instruments at an intermediate level, including trumpet, piano, cello, ukulele, recorder, and all other woodwind, brass, string, and percussion instruments. Through my teaching experiences at Shelley Elementary, Hobbs Middle School, Adams Elementary, Bonneville High School, Drake Middle School and my employment student-teaching at Idaho Falls High School, and Madison Middle School, I’ve developed skills in conducting, vocal pedagogy, and choir leadership. I am excited to continue my journey in music education, sharing the joy of music and helping students develop their full potential.
