I graduated from Lamar University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1998. I spent a year and a half teaching art and photography at a private high school in Dallas before joining the Dallas ISD in 2000 where I taught music and art until 2012. I spent the next two years teaching art at the Goose Creek CISD in Baytown prior to joining PNGISD in 2014 where I teach middle school art and guitar. I have also taught coursework for the Longview Museum of Arts ranging from elementary to adult level classes. I am a practicing, exhibiting artist and perform regularly as a musician. My band Melon Jelly won the Houston Blues Challenge and were quarterfinalists at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis. Our debut CD “The Road to Memphis” debuted at #15 on the Billboard Blues Chart. My solo CD “A Sinner’s Prayer” was selected as the Best Self-Produced CD by the Houston Blues Society. I have performed at countless venues across the US including the House of Blues in Dallas and Houston, the Levitt Pavilion in Arlington, the historic Stagecoach Ballroom in Fort Worth, Coyote Ugly in Memphis, and Remington Park Casino in Oklahoma City. I had the honor of sharing a stage with Rick Derringer’s band in Dallas and opened for country music legend Crystal Gayle at the historic Jefferson Theatre in Beaumont.
