She began playing violin at the age of 10 and continued her education by participating in school ensembles, taking private lessons, and continuing her education at CSU for music composition. Her musical influences include composers like John Williams, Stravinsky, and Florence Price, as well as watching professional musicians perform like the Colorado Symphony. Maribel's favorite thing about music is how it brings people together and her favorite thing about teaching music is that there is something for everyone, and watching students find what makes them happy.
