About Me

Hi, my name is Scarlett. I'm 30 years old and have been singing since I was six but I started seriously studying voice when I was 17. I went on to study voice and music production at Lagrange College and received my BA in Music. I am attending UWG in the fall to pursue my masters. I have extensive knowledge in diction, vocal technique and the structure of the voice. I have plenty of legally purchased sheet music to share. I was classically trained but loved studying musical theater and jazz as well. I am very patient and enjoy attending the students specific needs and personal desire for growth. I work at the students pace while also encouraging them to take an extra step or branch out of their comfort zone. My fondest teaching memory was coaching my little cousin before her big solo performance in her church choir. I am very eager to get started making little dreams become big realities.

What to expect in my Vocal Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate

-Required repertoire consisting of 8 to 10 songs that include pieces chosen by the instructor and pieces chosen by the student -Study of sight singing and ear training practices -Provided sheet music legally purchased ranging in genres and help with purchasing more music at students request -Study of diction in various languages -Study of various vocal styles -Technique and classical training -Study of vocal anatomy to help the student understand their instrument as well as how to keep proper health of the voice -Learning diaphragmatic breathing and grounding techniques -Learning how to sing for the stage and how to sing into a microphone as well as how to properly sing for the room/space given

Formal Education:

BA in Music (focus in Vocal Performance and Music Production) from Lagrange College (2024) Pursuing a masters in the fall at UWG

Private Education:

Songwriting since 6 years old Guitar lessons at 8 years old Piano and Voice lessons beginning at 17 years old (classical training)

Performing Experience:

Performances at small clubs in hometown (Lagrange) Performances of original material at TrueLife in Lagrange Local church gigs in home town Performing with First Methodist Church choir in cities surrounding Lagrange, Georgia Performing in College Chamber Choir during entirety of schooling, which included traveling gigs, some of which were paid Performing in Lagrange College's productions, including studied music and original music
