About Me

Shawn is a current percussion and drum set student at Temple University studying Music Education with a concentration in Jazz. He plays in multiple ensembles, including the Percussion Ensemble, Wind Symphony, and Jazz Combo. He graduated from King Philip Regional High School in Wrentham, Massachusetts, where the music program consistently places gold in festivals and competitions. He has also won multiple awards from his high school and festivals like the Louis Armstrong Award, Woody Herman Award, Outstanding Drums Award, and Outstanding Rhythm Section Award. The Outstanding Drums and Rhythm Section Award was given to him at the annual Essentially Ellington High School Jazz Band Competition & Festival, which is one of the most innovative jazz education events in the world. In addition, He also runs the Something Sweet Jazz Quintet that plays gigs locally. Shawn has also studied with world-class teachers such as John Riley, Dan Monaghan, Philip O'Banion, Bill Wozniak, and many other clinics and master classes with masters.
