About Me

Nelson is a professional drummer, music director, worship leader, and instructor with extensive experience in both live performance and music leadership. A graduate of Murray State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Business, Nelson brings a versatile and well-rounded approach to both performing and teaching. As a performer, Nelson has toured with Laura Story and has performed and/or recorded alongside artists including Sandra McCracken, Jordan Kauflin, Jordyn St. John, Little by Little, Perimeter Worship, and Clint Draper. He has played for audiences of over 10,000 people on multiple occasions, including performances at Gainbridge Fieldhouse and Lucas Oil Stadium. In addition to performing, Nelson has extensive leadership experience as a Music Director MD and Worship Leader, overseeing bands, arrangements, rehearsals, and live productions in both worship and performance settings. His musicianship spans a wide variety of genres, including Gospel, Worship, Funk, Jazz, and Folk, allowing him to adapt quickly in both live and studio environments. With 5 years of teaching and mentoring experience and 4 years as a Drum Tech and Instructor, Nelson is passionate about helping drummers grow in technique, rhythm, musicality, consistency, and stage performance. His lessons are designed to create a supportive and engaging environment where students can build confidence, strengthen foundational skills, and develop into versatile, expressive musicians.
