About Me

I have been a student of music for 15 years. My musical influences include Adele, Billie Eilish, Cecillia Bartoli, Sweet Pill, and Paramore, and I also enjoy anything rock or classical. My teaching style can best be described as direct and supportive. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that the only reason we should say “I can’t” is if it’s followed up with “yet”. In my lessons, you can expect to learn breath control, phrasing, performance, meaning and history behind a piece, and self confidence. I like to tell my students “as long as you’re proud of the art you create, you’ll get to where you need to be”. My favorite thing about teaching is the bond I create with my students. My favorite performance was singing with the Dallas Symphony Chorus in the Berlin Philharmonic. My students love that I encourage personal self expression through music and with a warmup we have a quick meditation to shake off the rest of the day. I primarily teach contemporary and musical theatre, but I can also teach choral singing and harmonization training. My approach as a teacher is to tailor each lesson to each students individual goals, challenge the individual with at home exercises, as well as building a bond with the parents and families that makes each student excited to come to session.
