Joshua is an accomplished tubist, conductor, and educator currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts in Brass Performance and a Master's in Orchestral Conducting at the University of Kansas. With a robust academic foundation that includes a Bachelor's from Mansfield University of Pennsylvania. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Kansas, Josh teaches tuba and euphonium lessons to a range of students and serves as Co-Director of the University’s Tuba-Euphonium Consort. His work extends to the orchestral realm, where he co-directs the University Philharmonic Orchestra and assists with the KU Symphony orchestra Josh has shared his knowledge beyond the university, teaching and conducting at events such as the Midwestern Music Camp and various school workshops across Kansas, New York, and Pennsylvania. has also done workshops at a university level in Brandon University Manitoba, Canada and Mansfield University Pennsylvania. His contributions have included masterclasses, ensemble coaching, and one-on-one lessons. He has performed with prestigious ensembles including the Kansas City Symphony, Elmira Symphony, and Fountain City Brass Band. Josh’s chamber work includes performances with the Kansas City Brass Quintet and the Girasol Brass Quintet. Committed to advancing the tuba repertoire, Josh has commissioned several new works, including concertos and sonatas by composers like Colin Oberg and Kevin Wanner. Josh is currently residing in Lawrence Kansas where he spends his free time playing golf and fishing with his close friends.

What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons
Expect practicing writing out single line melodies. then add counterpoint (second line of music) to those melodies. Going to learn good part writing with in 2 voices

Building Good Fundamentals that does not cause long term injury to the student while being consistent at it while taking on harder music.
