About Me

Hi there! My name is Andrew and I've had the pleasure of serving the metro Atlanta area and other parts of Georgia for over 8 years now. My musical journey began over 20 years ago at age 9. After years of learning guitar solos from "Guitar Hero III," YouTube tutorials of Alicia Keys' greatest hits, and immersing myself into the sweet melodies of John Coltrane, I decided to turn my musical passions into a reality. I soon discovered my voice through the saxophone at age 10. There wasn't a time where I wasn't practicing or transcribing a song I'd heard. Since then, I've carried my musical knowledge and curiosity through what I'd say is a successful collegiate and professional career as a music educator and performer. My musical interests and inspirations span a variety of genres from classical, jazz, funk, and soul to R&B, Hip-Hop, Pop, House, and Rock. I have over 8 years of instructional experience both inside and outside the music classroom. Many of my students go on to live successful musical careers of their own. My favorite moments by far have been prior students reaching out to me to tell me about their exciting musical accomplishments as section leaders, members of an ESPN band of the year, live performances, auditions results, and even scholarship opportunities. I can best describe my teaching style as highly student-centered and adaptable, making student interests and goal-setting a core of my lessons. My teaching philosophy surrounds meeting students where they are at and encouraging students to become lifelong lovers of music learning and continuous musical growth. I have playing experience and proficiency in the full saxophone family soprano, alto, tenor, and baritone, with alto and tenor being my primary two. Whether you're looking for lessons leading up to a big audition or simply wanting to lean more into your love for your instrument, I'm happy to help and look forward to exploring your musical interests and goals together!
