I am a professional musician, educator, composer, and producer with more than 25 years of experience in music performance and education. I studied saxophone at the University of Central Florida, where I earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree with a specialization in K–12 instrumental music. I later earned a Master's degree in Music Orchestration from the University of Chichester in the United Kingdom. As a former public school band director, I taught instrumental music in both St. Johns and Charlotte Counties, Florida. Today, I continue to work with local school music programs as a clinician while maintaining an active career as a performer, composer, arranger, and producer. I teach saxophone, piano, music theory, improvisation, composition, and arranging. I also offer beginning to intermediate instruction in clarinet and flute, as well as foundational brass and woodwind instruction for students who are just getting started. Theory instruction can be approached through traditional academic methods or through practical piano-based techniques that incorporate self-accompaniment and improvisation. My teaching philosophy combines strong musical fundamentals with practical, real-world musicianship. Whether a student is preparing for school ensembles, auditions, performances, or simply learning for personal enjoyment, I strive to make lessons engaging, encouraging, and tailored to individual goals. I am available for both in-person and online lessons. Online instruction can be highly effective when students have a reliable internet connection, an appropriate webcam setup, and a dedicated space that allows for clear communication and musical demonstration.
