Kallen has been playing music since he was as young as 4 years old. He began with hand drums such as djembe, and continued to learn many instruments such as drumset, voice, guitar, bass guitar, french horn, saxophone, and trumpet. He was in concert band for 6 years, has performed his own songs live, and performed at events. He began composing songs at 12 years old, and learned music production through his education at the University of Michigan, where he majored in Music Business and Film, TV, and Media, with a minor in Performing Arts Management and Entrepreneurship. He continues playing and making music in his free time and has made many music videos. His favorite genres as rock, blues, hip hop, and 2000s pop. His favorite artists are the Beatles, Etta James, Janis Joplin, and Nirvana.
