About Me

Isaac has always loved music from an early age. He began playing the clarinet at the age of 7 and has been singing in choirs since he was 5. He decided to pursue Music Education at the University of Delaware in his freshman year for Voice, but found a new emerging love for singing while still wanting to teach music, so in his sophomore year he decided to switch to Vocal Performance while having a Educational Studies Minor. His influences include Musical Theater, Pop, Opera, and more recently Classical/English Art Songs. He is mostly experienced in Musical Theater, as he has performed in many, as well as music directed and assistant artistic directed some. Isaac's favorite thing about music is the emotion you can invoke and share with the audience, and how you can make them feel the same way. His favorite thing about teaching music is the before and after effects, he loves hearing his students for the first time and envisioning how to further develop their skills, and enjoys hearing them again after taking their lessons to heart and really noticing the growth they’ve made by leaps and bounds. One of his favorite teaching experiences was showing one of his students the recording of his first lesson where they had sung a piece they wanted to perform but was less than confident with, and then showing the most recent recording of the same song and hearing how much good work they’ve done and seeing them become more confident in themselves. When taking lessons with Isaac you can expect MT Style warmups and little more unorthodox singing warmups, lots of running of repertoire and songs, and if consent is provided a collection of recordings to see their growth, look back and see what warmups/lessons were effective, plus useable for audition recordings if needed.
