Hi, my name is Damian, and I am a musician and trained music therapist from Philadelphia, PA. My primary instruments for instruction are guitar (acoustic and electric), bass guitar, piano, ukulele, and voice. I began my music journey in the third grade on the flute, and have since expanded my instrumental vocabulary when I joined my high school jazz band as the bassist. I learned the guitar independently, and continue to play and learn new music every day. In college, I studied music therapy with a minor in psychology. The requirements for music therapy study are professional competence with voice, guitar, and piano, all of which are confidently in my arsenal. My music therapy education also led me to wonderful experiences teaching music and songwriting to children of all ages, including adaptive music lessons for people with intellectual/developmental disabilities. I have an enormous passion for music, teaching, and enlightening children and adults alike to the wonderful world of musical expression.
Damian C. has over 4 years of music experience in the Philadelphia area.

What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons
In my songwriting lessons, we will get deeply acquainted with the wholeness of self-expression in music. We will explore how melodies, chord choices, harmonic progressions, and rhythmic choices can support or enhance the lyrical substance. We will touch on topics such as: phrasing, writing “hooks” and choruses, what makes a captivating song intro, why do some songs stand the test of time, dissecting favorite songs and working off of them, and so much more!
What to expect in my Bass Guitar Lessons
Depending on the student’s skill level, my approach is collaborative and strength-based. I structure my lessons according to the student’s interest and building up the habits and techniques to achieve their goals, whether it’s learning to reading music, enhancing playing technique, learning & understanding music theory, or applying their newfound skills to playing genres/songs of interest.
