Hello! My name is Shayla, and I am a vocalist and teaching artist based in Brooklyn NY. I have been teaching for 6 years. I have taught ages 3 and above. In my time teaching I have lead songwriting performance programs, early childhood development group classes, and bands. I also teach private lessons. My teaching style is flexible though structured in fundamental curriculum in harmony, rhythm, and melody. I have experience working with students who have special needs. I have a BA in vocal jazz performance, though I have developed my knowledge of the voice through years of study in choir singing, musical theater, and classical voice technique as well.
