Ashlyn began playing saxophone at the age of 11. Over the years, she developed her skills further through her school’s music programs. She gained performance experience through marching band in high school and college, along with a capella choir, percussion, jazz, and horn ensembles. Ashlyn started college with the intentions of Music Education, but found a passion for recording and mixing music and studied Music Production. Though Ashlyn can teach many different genres of music, her musical personal favorites are alternative and jazz/big band, which had great influence on her style of playing. Ashlyn loves music because of the memories you make while playing and listening, and loves teaching music because of the fulfillment of working hard with someone to make art together.
