Hey there! I'm Maryse. I've been playing guitar for over 15 years. I’ve performed at festivals, churches, open mics, and everywhere in between. I also sing, write songs, and dabble with a handful of other instruments. Music isn't just something I do; it's how I think. As a guitar coach, my approach is simple: we start with songs you actually love, learn to listen to what makes them feel the way they feel, and build from there. I teach you to trust your ear, connect with the music, and play with real feeling. Because the moment guitar stops being fun, you stop playing. That's never the goal. I play by ear, not by the book, and that's how I teach. No rigid patterns and no theory overload. Just music, your instincts, and a lot of encouragement. My biggest influences are Keith Urban and John Mayer, and my teaching philosophy comes straight from guitarist and educator Tomo Fujita: don't worry, don't compare, don't expect too fast. Be kind to yourself. I take that to heart in every single lesson. I'm best for beginners and early intermediates, especially if you know a few chords and want to actually go somewhere with them.
