Lelia is an accomplished flutist, educator, and conductor. She began her flute studies in 2017 as a self-taught musician before pursuing formal university training under Dr. Mary Matthews and Dr. Gozde Cakir-Ramsey. A standout performer, Lelia was named a flute finalist in the Derryberry Concerto Competition. Throughout her time at Tennessee Tech University, Lelia held numerous high-level leadership and administrative roles, serving as President and Vice President of Mu Phi Epsilon co-ed music fraternity, President and Vice President of the TTU Flute Organization TTUFO, and Treasurer for Mariachi Los Dorados de TTU. Her instructional and conducting experience spans several years, including positions as a band camp clinician, section leader for the TTU marching band, and assistant instructor and conductor for the TTU Flute Choir. As a teacher, Lelia blends her unique self-taught roots with rigorous classical training to cultivate well-rounded, expressive musicians.
